Do you like being outdoors? Do you like seeing animals around your neighborhood? If so, please join us for Why Birds are the BEST this spring. This program is being offered by the Audubon Society of Rhode Island in partnership with the Woonsocket Harris Public Library.

Why Birds are the BEST will run for 4 sessions that will take place entirely outdoors in the green space around the Library, with a walk to nearby Social Park on the last day. We will explore what makes birds special, why people love them so much, and how we can find and watch them in Woonsocket. We will do engaging activities and hands-on investigations to learn more about our feathered friends, and have fun, too! No background knowledge of birds necessary; we will start from the beginning. The only requirements are comfortable shoes and readiness to learn outdoors. We hope that you will join our flock!

Yesterday, the NYPD confirmed that 114 arrests were made yesterday after school officials called in police. Officers cleared out demonstrations that were camping out on the school's south lawn. Mayor Eric Adams said the school's students have a proud history of protests, but they're not allowed to trespass.        Title Nine rules are getting a major overhaul after a push from the Biden administration. The changes announced today come in an effort to boost rights of sexual assault victims and LGBTQ students, fulfilling a key Biden campaign promise. Colleges will now be allowed to use a lower standard to find someone guilty of sexual misconduct, reversing policies put in place by former President Trump.       Taylor Swift is releasing a second installment to her new album, "The Tortured Poets Department."
