As always, ShelterWalk is about raising funds for our Shelter and Homelessness Prevention. Our staff report that the people we serve face emergency situations every day that have the potential to break their housing security, people with unforeseen circumstances who need a boost to get to a better place. Our Shelter gives people who are homeless a place to live while they work toward affording housing.

It's free to register and participate! Fundraising for us is encouraged so that we can continue to provide critical services to the community.

Can't participate, but, would like to help?

We appreciate your donation.

The President said the country's GDP will grow faster than China's for the first time in decades.        CDC officials are warning gay and bisexual men to take precautions as cases of monkeypox are cropping up in the U.S. The warning comes after the World Health Organization said the recent surge in cases likely spread among men who have sex with other men. WHO officials emphasized, however, that anyone can contract the virus.        New Jersey's Attorney General's Office is investigating the social media platforms Twitch and Discord in connection to the mass shooting in Buffalo. Investigators want to know if the social media sites are violating consumer protection laws by failing to stop the posting of harmful content. The young man accused of killing ten people at a Top's supermarket in Buffalo allegedly used those platforms.        New FBI data shows active shooter incidents nationwide rose dramatically in 2021. The report published Monday shows the number of incidents jumped about 52-and-a-half percent between 2020 and 2021, and they have nearly doubled between 2017 and last year. The bureau noted the data shows "an upward trend" in the number of active shooter incidents.        Ford driverless vehicles are currently in operation in Texas and Florida. Ford is teaming up with Argo AI on the project to see how autonomous vehicle technology works in Miami and Austin. Argo AI officials tell Austin American-Statesman their employees will be passengers in all SUVs and can stop or force the vehicles to pull over.        An Alabama couple is coming up with a unique way to make use of an old military helicopter. Blake Morris and Maggie Morton converted the body of a helicopter into a camper. They installed everything a basic camper has plus some extra amenities, like an outdoor TV hook up and speakers.
