Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac is dead at the age of 79. In a statement, her family said she passed away peacefully this morning after a short illness. She joined Fleetwood Mac as a permanent member in 1971 and served as a main songwriter and lead vocalist.       Smaller interest rate hikes may be on the way. The overall bill passed with wide bipartisan support, but the vote on sick leave was much closer.       Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is ordering that flags be lowered to honor the victims of the deadly shooting at Oxford High School. Today is the one-year anniversary of the tragedy that claimed four lives and injured seven others. The shooter was 15 at the time and was charged as an adult.        Chinese police are moving quickly to clamp down on protests over the country's tough zero-COVID policy. Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas says the Biden Administration needs to support those calling for greater democracy and freedom. China has been hit by a wave of COVID cases.       A Gladys Knight scripted series is in the works at Cineflix. Knight is teaming up with Cineflix Productions to create the series and she'll serve as executive producer. The project reportedly will operate like Netflix's "The Crown" and focus on different periods of Knight's life.
