President Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs will not withdraw his bid despite allegations of workplace misconduct. White House physician Dr. Ronny Jackson had an Oval Office meeting with Trump yesterday afternoon after Trump left the door open for Jackson to drop his nomination. Trump said he was leaving the decision up to Jackson.       Republican Debbie Lesko is the projected winner of the special congressional election in Arizona. The former state senator held off her Democratic challenger, Dr. Hiral Tipirneni, a political newcomer. Lesko will serve out the term of former Representative Trent Franks, who resigned over sexual harassment allegations.       President Trump's travel ban is getting a close look from the U.S. Supreme Court. Justices will hear oral arguments in the case today. The President imposed a travel ban on people from several so-called high-risk countries.       The court date's being pushed back for the man accused of killing four people in a Tennessee Waffle House. The first court appearance for 29-year-old Travis Reinking was scheduled for today, but court documents say the hearing has been pushed back to May 7th because of scheduling conflicts between the lawyers. Reinking is accused of opening fire at a Waffle House in a Nashville suburb early Sunday morning, killing four and wounding several others.       Scientists say they've found a record amount of plastic in Arctic sea ice. The discovery announced last night is adding to worries about how this might affect marine life and the health of people. Core samples taken in five regions of the Arctic Ocean are three times higher than levels in earlier studies.       Twitter shares are jumping up after quarterly revenues beat expectations. Company earnings for the first-quarter are 16-cents per-share, which is four-cents higher than analyst predictions. It's Twitter's second profitable quarter.
