The Harris Public Library, 303 Clinton St., will host an 8-week parenting/caregiver workshop on Friday mornings in the Woonsocket Room from 9:15am-11am starting on November 1st. This is an 8-week series that runs through December 27th (no meeting on November 29th). At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you. The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.
In this workshop series, parents and caregivers will be guided on how to: understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read the child's emotional needs, support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions, enhance the development of your child's self esteem, honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure. Free child care and transportation will be available as needed. A Stop & Shop gift card will be raffled off at the end of each session. All parents/caregivers who complete the eight-week session will be entered into a final raffle. An introductory video is available for viewing on YouTube at:
Arizona's near-total abortion ban is still law. The Civil War-era law outlaws the procedure except to save the life of the woman and threatens providers with prison sentences between two and five years. The state's House did not repeal the law on Wednesday following attempts by Democratic lawmakers to do so.
