11.       COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS

 

20 CP 08         A request of Councilman Ward to address the City Council regarding the following items:

  1. My February 28, 2020 request for a report on Form 1099s issued by the city for 2019.
  2. My March 5, 2020 email to the Finance Director regarding the hiring of independent contractors and related Woonsocket Home Rule Charter provisions that may have been violated.
  3. My email dated March 9, 2020 and others regarding the Woonsocket Redevelopment Agency hiring of an attorney and “Administrative Approval” of a rooftop solar installation at Highland Industrial Park.
  4. Tax abatements, Assessment Board of Review decisions and the failure of the tax assessor to attend board meetings to defend denial of appeals.

20 CP 09                     Request of Public Works Director to address the City Council regarding the following items:

  1. Public notices being mailed to water consumers related to violations of RIDOH requirements in 2019 (attached).SUEZ will be represented at the meeting and available to answer any questions.
  2. Status update of the response to recommendations made in the report prepared following the odor study conducted at the Wastewater Treatment Facility (attached).
  3. Recent issues with Synagro’s operation of the sewer sludge incinerator in handling sludge during an unscheduled shutdown.

20 CP 10                     A request from Vice President Brien to address the City Council regarding the following item:

  1. The response received on March 6th, 2020 from Finance Director Chamberland in connection with my request for information regarding Winter Wonderland.

20 CP 11                     Request of Kristi Keith to address the City Council regarding the following items:

  1. The 2020 DWC Board and continued partnership with the City of Woonsocket.
  2. Granting permission to use city property for events sponsored by DWC.
  3. National Main Street Conference 2020.
  4. Accreditation by Main Street America.
