Capitol Television to produce, distribute video of
daily COVID-19 briefing

STATE HOUSE – Beginning tomorrow, Capitol Television will begin producing and distributing video of Gov. Gina M. Raimondo’s daily briefing on the state’s COVID-19 response.

The briefing, which is generally held at 1 p.m. daily, will be carried live on Capitol Television as well as ABC 6, NBC 10 and WPRI 12. It will also be live-streamed on Capitol Television’s website, rilegislature.gov/CapTV.

Capitol Television will re-air the briefing three times daily at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Capitol Television can be seen on Cox on Channels 15 and 61, in high definition on Cox Channel 1013, on Full Channel on Channel 15 and on Channel 34 by Verizon subscribers.

Each briefing will remain available on demand at Capitol Television’s website.

Capitol Television will be providing the feed to the three network stations to cut down on the number of people in the room at a time when no groups of more than five people are supposed to be congregating.

Additionally, the sign language interpreters will be located in another room to provide more social distance and will appear in a box on screen.

Reporters will continue to submit questions to a portal set up by the governor’s office. Those questions appear in real time on a monitor at the briefing, where Capitol Television’s Margie O’Brien asks them of the governor.
