(Warwick – July 6, 2020) – Thundermist Health Center will provide new and expectant parents with a series of virtual events about being pregnant and caring for a new baby during a pandemic. The virtual baby shower series will take place Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24 on Facebook Live.

Thundermist’s prenatal care team will provide information and resources. Participants will also be able to ask questions. Topics will include pregnancy during COVID-19, the fourth trimester, stress during pregnancy, and breastfeeding.

“More than 100 community members attend our baby showers each year,” said Jeanne LaChance, president and CEO. “We’re excited to take the celebration online and help new parents navigate this difficult period.”

All sessions will be available live on Facebook and recorded. Participants will be able to enter the grand prize raffle two win a new crib, car seat/stroller, or baby monitor.

The sessions are sponsored by Neighborhood Health Plan of RI, UnitedHealthcare, Tufts Health Plan, and Landmark Medical Center.
