Rep. Casey Hosts Virtual Woonsocket Main Street

Holiday Stroll on Capitol Television

STATE HOUSE — Rep. Stephen M. Casey (D-Dist. 50, Woonsocket) and his wife Debra, co-chairs of the Woonsocket Main Street Holiday Stroll, have announced that the event will be broadcast on Capitol TV several times over the next week.

The annual stroll has been a much-anticipated holiday event in Woonsocket. This year, it took place virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“I’d like to thank the city of Woonsocket and the Downtown Woonsocket Collaborative for their participation and help in getting this event off the ground, and the Public Works Department for helping us to decorate the downtown Main Street area,” said Representative Casey. “So many people look forward to the holiday stroll every year, and we didn’t want the pandemic to dampen our spirit, so we put this program together for the people of the area to enjoy, reminisce and see some familiar faces on their TV screens.”

The organization will also be running contests on the Downtown Woonsocket collaborative website, dwc02895.org, through Dec. 17. The contests, which include a caroling, ugly sweater, and best-dressed window contest, will feature cash prizes.

The event will be broadcast on Capitol Television, which can be seen on Cox Channels 15 and 61, in high definition on Cox Channel 1013, on Full Channel on Channel 15 and on Channel 34 by Verizon subscribers. It can also be streamed on the General Assembly Website Capitol TV on-demand page, under “Specials.”

The event will be broadcast Thursday, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 11 at noon, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 12 at 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 13 at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 3 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.; and Monday, Dec. 14 at 8 a.m. and 11:30
