On March 22, 2022, the Providence County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Juan Rivera with one count of murder, one count of conspiracy to commit murder, one count of discharging a firearm while in commission of a crime of violence resulting in death, one count of possessing a firearm after convicted of a crime of violence, one count of possession of a pistol without a license, and one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon. The alleged acts occurred in the city of Providence sometime on or about September 25, 2021. The Providence Police Department conducted the investigation. The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on March 30, 2022, in Providence County Superior Court.
