CITY OF WOONSOCKET HONORS OUR VETERANS

WITH MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVANCE

Woonsocket, RI,: Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt invites all residents of Woonsocket and the surrounding communities to join the City of Woonsocket and the United Veterans Council of Woonsocket (UVCW) to this years Memorial Day Observance to be held on Monday, May 30 at 10: 30 a.m. at the United Veterans Council Armed Forces Park on Davison Avenue as we gather to recognize and honor those who have sacrificed their lives for our country.

"Memorial Day encompasses a lot of pride for Americans as we pay homeage as a nation honoring those who gave their lives for our country." said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt. "We not only acknowledge the lives lost on this Memorial Day, but every day remember their supreme sacrifice for our freedoms and hold their families in our continued thoughts and prayers."

The annual ceremony will feature brief remarks by City Officials and Veterans.

Participants include The Woonsocket Police and Fire Department Honor Guards, Boy Scout Troup # 2, The Woonsocket High School Band, Woonsocket Police Explorers Post # 412, Musicians Andrew and Jacob Orlando will play taps and soloist Jouseph Santigo will accompany the Woonsocket High School Band.

WOON 1240 AM Radio will broadcast the live event. Limited Seating is available on a first come basis so please feel free to bring a chair. Any notification of event changes will be announced on WOON and WNRI Radio 1380.
