Mayor Details Start for 719 River Street Building Demo After Asbestos and Pest Abatements Completed

WOONSOCKET, R.I.: Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt today announced that the asbestos and pest abatements for 719 River Street are complete, and the demolition of that building will most likely begin the week of July 11th. The Mayor detailed that under the guidance of City Construction Supervisor, Tom Koback, AAA Asbestos Abatement Co. of Johnston, RI finished the asbestos and pest abatement work last week, and its sister company, AA Wrecking, will soon proceed with building demolition and clean-up that is expected to be completed within 60 days.

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt stated, "The demolition of 719 River Street means a lot to my Administration because it is something that we have collectively worked on for a very long time to help revitalize that area." The Mayor then lauded the efforts of City Construction Supervisor Tom Koback, "Tom diligently collaborated with our contractor to get this project through the asbestos and pest abatement phases in a timely manner."
