KILLINGLY HIGH SCHOOL BIG RED MARCHING BAND TO HEADLINE AUTUMNFEST PARADE

Woonsocket – The 2022 Autumnfest Steering Committee along with Tom Gray, Autumnfest Parade Coordinator, proudly announce that the headline band for this year’s Autumnfest Parade will be the Killingly High School Big Red Marching Band from Dayville, Connecticut.  This year marks the 6th appearance for this 45-piece band in the Autumnfest parade and 2nd time as the headliner.  According to Jeffrey Ethier, the band director, the Killingly High School Marching Band is absolutely thrilled to be invited to be the headlining band.

For the past twelve years the Killingly High School Marching Band has marched at the Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts. They also participate annually in the UMass Band Day with 60 plus marching bands and close to 4,000 high school band students.   Last year, the Killingly High School Music Department traveled to perform in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

In the Autumnfest Parade this year, The Killingly High School Marching Band hope to get you all dancing!  Their selections will be taken from this year’s show entitled “Dancing in the Streets” featuring iconic dance tunes of old and new.  They will feature the classic 80's hit song, which everyone is sure to know, Michael Jackson’s THRILLER!  In addition, parade attendees will hear the Latin Dance tune, SWAY, made famous by Michael Bublé. You may even hear the popular sports anthem, NA NA HEY HEY KISS HIM GOODBYE (THE HEY SONG).

The Autumnfest parade is Monday, Oct. 10, 2022. It begins at 9:30 AM and steps off from Diamond Hill Plaza on Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket.  The parade route travels down Diamond Hill Road and takes a left on to Social Street. The parade ends at the entrance to World War II Veterans Memorial Park, the home of Autumnfest.
