Mayor Baldelli-Hunt Appoints Radames Figueroa to Woonsocket Planning Board

 

WOONSOCKET, R.I.: Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt announced today that Radames Figueroa was appointed on September 30, 2022, to the City of Woonsocket Planning Board which is the agency responsible for reviewing major development, redevelopment, and sub-division projects in the City to ensure that applicable regulations are met. Figueroa will also participate as a member of the Citys River Corridor Review Commission and Design Review Commission. The term of the appointment will be until April 20, 2025.

Figueroa was born in Puerto Rico, and has been a resident of Woonsocket for 25 years. He is a graduate of Woonsocket middle and high schools and has a degree in business administration from CCRI. Figueroa brings retail and construction experience to the planning board, having worked as an assistant store manager, chimney sweep/mason, welder, and member of the Construction and General Laborers Local Union 609. He is proud of his Hispanic heritage and is looking forward to helping build a strong Woonsocket community.

Mayor Baldelli-Hunt stated, "Radames will be a positive addition to our Planning Board because he has a strong construction background, as well as a good understanding of issues pertinent to our City, particularly our expanding Hispanic community. Radames is fair and open-minded and will entertain different perspectives in helping the Board reach consensus on important matters concerning our residents and businesses."
