Two New Exhibits Open at the Museum of Work & Culture

(WOONSOCKET, R.I.) – To commemorate its 25th anniversary, the Museum of Work & Culture, a division of the Rhode Island Historical Society, invites the public to explore two new exhibits, Flowing Through Time: Nature, Industry, and Communities of the Blackstone River and Hollywood Comes to Woonsocket.

Flowing Through Time, a permanent addition to the Museum, is a cutting-edge digital interactive exhibit which allows visitors to explore stories of the Blackstone River and its watershed over thousands of years by focusing on the function of the water power that made the mills possible, the communities that have lived with and been impacted by the river, and the long-term ecological impact the industrial era has had on the water and wildlife.

Hollywood Comes to Woonsocket, is a temporary exhibit in its changing gallery exploring the city's history as a prime destination for national and international acts, including vaudeville, Francophone performers, blockbuster films, live performances, and “eggrolls and jazz.” The exhibit will be open until February 15, 2023.
 

The Museum is open Tuesday-Friday, 9:30am-4pm and Saturday, 10am-4pm.
