Speaker Shekarchi statement on the passing

of former Governor Lincoln Almond

Below is a statement from Speaker K. Joseph Shekarchi on the passing of former Governor Lincoln Almond:

“I was saddened to learn of the passing of Governor Lincoln Almond, who had a long and distinguished career in public service. He was an outstanding town administrator in Lincoln and was nationally recognized as a U.S. Attorney. He capped off his career with eight years as Governor, always displaying dignity and compassion while working in a bipartisan fashion to accomplish so much for the people of Rhode Island. All of the members of the House of Representatives join me in extending our thoughts and prayers to the family of Governor Almond.”
