RIPTA’s Fall Service Changes
To Take Effect Saturday, August 26, 2023
Providence, Rhode Island, August 24, 2023… The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will implement fall service changes effective Saturday, August 26, 2023. RIPTA makes regular service adjustments three times a year in response to seasonal changes and/or passenger use.
2023 Fall Service Changes
Service on Routes 1, 32, 33, 34, 40, and 61x between the East Side Tunnel and Thayer Street and downtown Providence, Kennedy Plaza will be adjusted for better reliability.
RIPTA will also implement annual changes which include trip time adjustments to Route 67; this route will continue to be free through October 31, 2023, courtesy of Discover Newport.

34 East Providence/Seekonk Square
40 Butler/Elmgrove
50 Douglas Ave./Bryant University
55 Admiral/Providence College
60 Providence/Newport
61X Tiverton/East Bay Express
67 Bellevue/Mansions/Salve Regina University
Passengers are strongly encouraged to check new schedules for how service changes may affect them. They may also pick up the leaflet entitled Fall Service Changes Effective August 26, 2023, that is available at Kennedy Plaza; the leaflet is also viewable online.
