Bridge News Correction!

On reading the Valley Breeze yesterday, I noted the article on the Woonsocket Hill Road bridge work to be done this weekend and found the road closure plan described there to be substantially different from the one that was provided to me for my newsletter last week. I contacted the RIDOT project manager who had approved my description of the plan for last week’s newsletter to see which was correct. He was most apologetic in saying the Valley Breeze description was now correct. So, there will be times where three of the four travel lanes will be shutdown at one time which means the detour routes will be in use.

I have been assured that RIDOT has arranged for police details to be present at each of the traffic lights along the detours in an effort to optimize the traffic flow. It is inevitable that there will be times that traffic along 146, route 5, route 104 and route 146A will be very slow. We ask for your patience and your cooperation in allowing police, fire, and rescue vehicles to move through the traffic as easily as possible. Let’s do all we can to avoid this inconvenience causing harm to anyone in a critical time of need.
