On August 27, 2018, the North Smithfield Police Department arrested Andrew Janelle, age 23, of Railroad Street in North Smithfield and charged him with impersonating a police officer. Any person who may have had contact with Janelle where he represented himself as a law enforcement officer, is asked to contact Detective Donovan at 401-762-1212 ext. 220. Janelle is not, and has never been, a law enforcement officer in this state or any other.
