NORTH SMITHFIELD- The request of the month from our North Smithfield Food pantry is crackers. Please drop off any donations or monetary gifts for the food pantry at the Slatersville Congregational Church on the Common, between 9 am and noon. An additional drop box is available at Town Hall, 1 Main Street, during regular business hours.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- The popular North Smithfield Summer Concert Series continues on Sunday July 13th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the Slatersville Common. The free event will feature the local sounds of country, rock and original selections by the band, A Final Paradox. The Morse Brothers, known for their spirited singing and interactive audience participation are sure to appeal to the summer audience. The band is being generously sponsored by National Grid, as part of their contribution to the series.
This Family-friendly event offers face painting for children and is free to the public. Lawn chairs and blankets suggested. The Church kitchen will open at 5:30pm with grilled foods and ice cream sundaes. Enjoy your summer on the Common.
NORTH SMITHFIELD- Tax bills for the Town of North Smithfield will be sent out next week. Payment of the first quarter bills is due by August 15th. Residents who do not receive a tax bill by the end of July, should contact the Tax Collector’s office at 767-2200 x511.To avoid waiting in line, there is a convenient secure drop box on the outside of the Town Hall Annex building. Mailing payments is highly recommended for expediency. Please mail Tax Collection Office, 575 Smithfield Road, North Smithfield, RI 02896.
The Independence Day Fireworks and Concert event is still ON tonight at World War II Memorial Park. Event schedule is 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt today announced her support of a design-build approach for the construction of the city’s new water treatment plant. The Mayor had asked the City Council to review its consideration of several sites for the plant’s location and the council has held several meetings to receive public input and expert testimony prior to finalizing its site choice and construction options.
