In July 2012, the U.S. Congress passed and President Barack Obama signed into law the Biggert-Waters Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2012, which reauthorized the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) through September 30, 2017. The NFIP is a federal program administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The traffic signal has been erected to provide a better flow of traffic over the historic Stone Arch Bridge in Slatersville. RIDOT has this bridge scheduled for replacement sometime in early 2014. Due to damage recently sustained to a parapet, DOT decided to restrict traffic down to one lane, to reduce potential for additional damage to that side of the bridge.

Get ready to dance!  This Sunday, August 18 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Summer Concerts on the Common in historic Slatersville, will feature “Illusions”. The six piece band will play a wide range of favorites to please audiences of all ages. Dr. Tim Hart, local podiatrist is a band member.
