STATE HOUSE – The Woonsocket House delegation recognized a local high school student this month for being named the Boys & Girls Club of Woonsocket 2012 Youth of the Year.
NORTH SMITHFIELD – Outdoor burning is not allowed in North Smithfield. Extremely dry conditions can produce brush fires that can get out of hand quickly.
Public Safety Director Paulette D. Hamilton reminds residents that the “no burning” regulation will remain in effect during the summer and those who violate the ordinance will be fined.
NORTH SMITHFIELD – The 2013 summer session for Junior Tennis begins Saturday, June 29th and will end August 10th. The sessions will be divided by age from 9:00 AM– 10:30 AM for children ages 7 – 10, and 10:30 AM – 12:00 noon for children ages 11 – 15. The summer session includes 7 Saturdays. The cost is $45.00 for the entire 7 lessons combined (No refunds due to absence). Cost is $10.00 per lesson if the entire session is not purchased. If any lesson is canceled due to rain, the rain date will be August 17th.
Adult sessions, for anyone 16 and older, begin Tuesday, June 25th from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM and end Wednesday, August 7th. Lessons are either on Tuesday or Wednesday. Participants may pick one day of each week to take lessons. Cost is $45.00 for the entire 7 lessons combined or $10.00 per lesson if the entire session is not purchased. If any lesson is canceled due to rain, the rain date is August 13th.

NORTH SMITHFIELD – Donations for the North Smithfield Food Pantry can be dropped off at Clean & Green Day Headquarters located at Scout’s Municipal Hall adjacent to Pacheco Park, 13 Main Street, North Smithfield, RI. Donations will be accepted from 8:00 AM until Noon.
