Please be advised that the Woonsocket Annual Egg Hunt is once again postponed due to inclement weather (snow) and freezing temperatures.
The event will be rescheduled for Late May/Early June, when the weather is more inclined to cooperate.
Please check with Woonsocket Parks & Recreation on Facebook for updates on this event.
“Unfortunately, outdoor events require the cooperation of the weather and in this case it hasn’t been on our side. We deeply apologize for this disappointment but promise to make the May/June date something equally enjoyable and exciting!”
Thank You to everyone who has helped spread the word about this fantastic tradition, while it will be delayed this time; we look forward to a wonderful day in the very near future!

Liz Kerrigan, Director of the Woonsocket Parks and Recreation Division announces with regret that due to uncomfortable weather conditions predicted in the forecast for Sunday afternoon, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Barry Memorial Field has been Postponed to a later date.
The new date is being coordinated among partners and volunteers and will be announced as soon as it is finalized.
“We were hoping to get it in before the snow started, and we might have,” Ms. Kerrigan said, “but the combination of temperatures barely above freezing combined with Northeast wind gusts above 20 miles per hour and no sunshine will take some of the fun out of this year’s hunt for both children and adults.” She added, “It’s to be expected with Easter coming so early in the year that weather could be a factor.”
