NORTH SMITHFIELD- Tax bills for the Town of North Smithfield will be sent out next week. Payment of the first quarter bills is due by August 15th. Residents who do not receive a tax bill by the end of July, should contact the Tax Collector’s office at 767-2200 x511.To avoid waiting in line, there is a convenient secure drop box on the outside of the Town Hall Annex building. The Independence Day Fireworks and Concert event is still ON tonight at World War II Memorial Park. Event schedule is 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt today announced her support of a design-build approach for the construction of the city’s new water treatment plant. The Mayor had asked the City Council to review its consideration of several sites for the plant’s location and the council has held several meetings to receive public input and expert testimony prior to finalizing its site choice and construction options.
