A bill that aims to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller [[ MULL-er ]] comes before a key Senate committee today. The bipartisan measure grew out of senators' concerns that President Trump will move to fire Mueller. The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to decide whether to refer the bill to the full Senate.        President Trump's personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, is asserting his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in the lawsuit filed by a porn star who says she had an affair with Trump a dozen years ago. Cohen said in a new court filing he's staying silent in the lawsuit because of an ongoing criminal investigation by the FBI and federal prosecutors.        A former policeman is accused of being California's notorious Golden State Killer. DNA evidence led to Tuesday's arrest of 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo of Sacramento.
