Congratulations to Captain Glenn Lamoureux and Lieutenant Stephen E. Riccitelli 

Town Administrator Gary Ezovski and Police Chief Steven E. Reynolds announce the retirement of Captain Glenn Lamoureux effective February 1, 2017. Captain Lamoureux was a 20 year veteran of the North Smithfield Police Department.  He supervised personnel and police operations and was the Department's accreditation manager, credited with the Department receiving accreditation form the Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission.  Captain Lamoureux was also named Officer of the Year in 2014 and has received numerous awards and commendations during 20 years of distinguished service to the North Smithfield Police Department.

 

Town Administrator Gary Ezovski and Chief Steven E. Reynolds are also pleased to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Stephen E. Riccitelli to the rank of Captain, effective February 1, 2017.

National Trust for Historic Preservation Awards SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival A Preservation Grant Towards "Slatersville: America's First Mill Village" Documentary

 

On February 1, SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival was awarded a $5,000 grant by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington DC.  These grant funds will be used for the editing of Slatersville: America's First Mill Village.

 

Slatersville will be a two-part documentary series on the two hundred year history of the first industrialized mill village in the United States, located in northern Rhode Island.  The 1806 village is also a key destination within the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park.  The film has been in production since 2012 and is being directed by award winning filmmaker and Slatersville native Christian de Rezendes of Breaking Branches Pictures.

Recycle Smart!

 

NO Recycling in BAGS!  Bagged recyclables end up landfilled, not recycled, because there is no way to open those bags.  Recyclables can only be reused if we can sort them into like materials. If recyclables are stuck in plastic or paper bags; metal cans, for example, cannot be sorted differently than a plastic water bottle, and cannot be recycled.
