NORTH SMITHFIELD –At the request of the Food Pantry volunteers, Town Administrator Paulette Hamilton has designated town hall as a location to accept donations of food. The request came about because the primary drop-off locations at Slatersville Congregational Church & St. John’s Church are open mornings only.

In addition to year-round weekly distribution over 60 families received holiday meals for Thanksgiving and also Christmas. “A heartfelt thanks for all the donations that made it possible to provide for the many local families during the holidays, said Christine Enos, Food Pantry Coordinator.

After the holidays donations usually drop off however, heat & electric bills are higher creating more of a need for food.  Residents are encouraged to bring in donations during this critical time of year.

“The NS Food Pantry needs help in stocking its shelves for the winter months”, Said Hamilton, “providing a location with additional receiving hours will go a long way in helping our residents contribute to those in need.”

Donations may be made at Town Hall, 1 Main Street in Slatersville, Monday through Wednesday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Thursday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
