NORTH SMITHFIELD – Town Administrator Paulette D. Hamilton asks for additional volunteers for the 3rd year of NS Works!, a referral program aimed at connecting energetic volunteers with people in the community in need of snow removal assistance.

The program was created in 2011 as a result of requests from disabled or elderly residents for help with snow removal.

“We want to encourage people to sign up again to help,” said Hamilton. “Even light snow may present a problem for some of our elderly residents.”

Anyone interested in offering services should contact Malinda Howard at 767-2200 ext. 301 or mhoward@nsmithfieldri.org. The Town is not responsible for the work, but will connect residents to each other, so those in need can get help.
