Volunteers Needed for MEDS Emergency Response Team

NORTH SMITHFIELD – The Town of North Smithfield is committed to providing the best methods of protecting residents in our community and to ensure that Rhode Island maintains the ability to respond to a public health emergency by receiving, distributing, and dispensing medical countermeasures and supplies. The Town of North Smithfield is currently seeking volunteers for our MEDS (Medical Emergency Distribution System) Clinic. We will host an informational meeting for those interested in becoming part of the MEDS emergency response team. 

 The next meeting will be held at St John's church, 63 Church Street, Slatersville on August 6th at 1:30 PM.

 Help us help you in a health emergency. Please come to the meeting at the church on August 6th. Information will also be provided on the essential RI Special Needs registry which can identify residents with special needs, in the event of an emergency Mr. Jay Levenson, public information officer for the North Smithfield EMA will give a brief talk on the Community Emergency Response (CERT) program.
