CVS Caremark Colleagues Present Check to Woonsocket High School’s
Air Force Junior ROTC Program

WOONSOCKET, R.I., October 2, 2013 - Representatives from Valor, CVS Caremark’s Colleague Resource Group for veterans, current service members, spouses and supporters, presented a check for more than $6,000 to members of Woonsocket High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC earlier today.

Valor members raised several thousand dollars to support the program and its participants. The money was used to purchase several items for the Air Force Junior ROTC classroom area, including new desks, white boards and a projector. Additionally, the funding will allow the students to continue to participate in regular drill meets. The Air Force Junior ROTC group was also able to buy much-needed new flags. The Air Force Junior ROTC has presented the colors at several veterans’ functions at CVS Caremark’s corporate headquarters, located in Woonsocket’s Highland Corporate Park.

“CVS Caremark is pleased to be able to support the talented young men and women who are participating in Woonsocket High’s Air Force Junior ROTC program,” said David Casey, Vice President, Workforce Strategies and Chief Diversity Officer, CVS Caremark. “The program offers participants the opportunity to learn and develop valuable leadership skills and we are proud to provide some additional funding to enhance their experience.”

About 50 Air Force Junior ROTC cadets attended the check presentation, along with Dr. Giovanna Donoyan, Woonsocket Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Patrick McGee, Woonsocket Director of Curriculum, and Dr. Lynne Bedard, Woonsocket High School Principal, which took place in the Air Force Junior ROTC Wing at Woonsocket High School.
