NORTH SMITHFIELD – With winter storms just around the corner North Smithfield EMA and Administrator Paulette Hamilton urge town residents with special needs that may require additional assistance during a time of emergency to register with the RI Department of Health. There is always the potential for power outages during winter ice and snow storms that may cause the need for additional services.
The Special Needs Emergency Registry, for our residents with disabilities, chronic conditions and other special healthcare needs, was developed by the RI Department of Health and the RI Emergency Management Agency in order to identify individuals who require special assistance during emergencies.
Residents may obtain a registration form at town hall or the clerk’s office at the town hall annex or may visit the EMA section of the town web site at: http://www.nsmithfieldri.org/_resources/common/userfiles/file/SpecialNeedsRegistry813_13.pdf
or call Malinda at 401-767-2200 ext. 301 for a form to be mailed.
