NORTH SMITHFIELD- The May 5th meeting of the North Smithfield Town Council will be dedicated to two major agenda items that are of interest to town residents. The first is the long-awaited presentation of the results pertaining to the School Budget Audit that was approved by the Town Council. The auditing firm was hired by the Council’s attorney, Mr. Stephen Robinson, to deliver a report that would provide insight into the massive budget shortfall the school department claimed and to determine what caused the deficit. The results of the audit will be explained by Mr. Edge and Mr. Sweeney at 7 pm on the agenda and should last for 60 minutes.
Immediately following will be amendments to current zoning and the continuation of the expansion plans and upgrades for the Anchor Subaru dealership on route 146 in North Smithfield. Those unable to attend the meeting can view the entire meeting on YouTube/ North Smithfield, the day after the meeting. The meeting begins at 7 pm at the Kendall Dean Auditorium on Green Street in Slatersville.
