Mount Saint Charles Academy Hosts First Family Fitness Day with Local Business Sponsors

Woonsocket – Mount Saint Charles Academy's Physical Education Department will host the school's first ever Family Fun & Fitness Day on Saturday, May 10th. This event will run from 9am-12:45pm and will take place at various locations across the Mount Saint Charles campus. The event is free and will be open to Mount families and their guests.

The purpose of the event is to promote healthy living as well as to educate and expose guests to the various ways they can achieve this lifestyle. Local businesses and members of the Mount community will serve as special guest sponsors and will be hosting a variety activity sessions throughout the day. While enjoying a healthy breakfast from Whole Food Market in Bellingham, MA, guests can begin registering at 9am.

Robert Greco, a Physical Education teacher at MSC, said, "We are so excited to have this ongoing relationship with businesses in our community who share our charge to promote a healthy lifestyle to kids. We're always amazed at how willing people are to come together and help us drive home the message that fitness is for everyone and that living an active lifestyle can be, and should be, fun!"

There will be three activity sessions running from 10:00-10:45am; 11:00-11:45am; and 12:00-12:45pm. Guests can choose from the following activities: archery with Buckley Family Archery of Fall River, MA; kickboxing with Rondeau's Kickboxing of Johnston, RI and Woonsocket, RI; yoga with Angela Pesare of Apple Valley Wellness Center in Greenville, RI; massages by Kim Lovett of Apple Valley Wellness Center in Greenville, RI; CrossFit with Judah Boulet of No Risk CrossFit in Smithfield, RI; tennis with Marc Dubois of North Smithfield, RI, an MSC parent and tennis pro; rock wall climbing with the Army National Guard; zumba with Jose Rodriguez of the Zumba Instructor Network; and rollerblading with Steve Shea of Smithfield, RI, a former hockey coach and current MSC teacher.

At any point throughout the day, guests can browse the sponsors' tables as well as enter to win prizes and meet the Mount Saint Charles Physical Education Department. In addition to the ones listed above, other sponsors include: Wee Wash It Inc. of Woonsocket, RI and Tenczar Studio/New England Image & Print Inc. of North Smithfield, RI.
