Moving the building inspection and sewer administrator’s offices to the Town Municipal Annex has opened space in the Town Hall building located at 1 Main Street.
As part of the commitment to a green environment, North Smithfield will again offer a Saturday yard waste collection beginning on April 6th, 2013. This program is a convenient way for residents to keep all yard waste out of our trash tonnage during the Spring yard clean up.
Town administrator Paulette Hamilton recently appointed Tammy Boss as Tax Assessor for the Town of North Smithfield. She replaces Chris Belair who has begun working with the Town of Bristol.
At 0630 today, the Woonsocket Police served a search warrant at 95 Rathbun St., 2nd left. As a result Miguel Medina (22 years old) and Juan Olivio (35 years old) both of 95 Rathbun St. 2L were arrested. Medina was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of schedule I-V. Olivio was charged with possession of marijuana 1st offense.
Also in the apartment police located fourteen Pit bulls, including seven puppies. Two of the dogs were properly licensed. The mother and puppies are being held by Lincoln Animal Control, the RISPCA took control of four adult dogs, Woonsocket Animal Control is holding the other dogs. The tenants have been cited for numerous animal violations totally close to $1600 in fines.
North Smithfield Easter Egg Hunt Cancelled
NORTH SMITHFIELD – The Building/Inspection/Zoning Officials and the Sewer Administrator have recently moved to the Municipal Office Annex at 575 Smithfield Road. These offices are in the building with the Police Department on the left side of the building. Visitors will find an entrance and ample parking on Merrimac Street.

Moore congratulates Uxbridge’s newest Eagle Scout
BOSTON – Sen. Moore presents a Senate citation to Daniel Rudy Gniadek, Uxbridge Troop 1122’s most recent Eagle Scout, at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held on Sunday, March 3rd at the United Presbyterian Church of Whitinsville. Sen. Moore regularly attends Eagle Scout Courts of Honor to congratulate young men on attaining the highest rank in Boy Scouting.
