sorry but I had to go political to start...
With nearly 160,000 US troops in Irac...Gasoline approaching $5 per gallon...Airline surcharges surpassing costs for US domestic flights, I can see why Sen Arlen Spector would want the United States government to devote (ie waste) time investigating the video taping antics of one professional football team from New England. MAKES SENSE TO ME
Hopefully the medium 3 can win a road playoff game this postseason but cheer up if not they have home court throughout the postseason.
The injury situation in the Red Sox outfield is more than curious. JD Drew and his wrist is almost expected, Coco's recurring stomach issues are troubling, and Manny's hammy looked fine to me when he scaled the Camden wall to hi five a fan Wednesday yet he has missed time sporadically due to it. All would be well if Bobby Kielty was not on the DL with Brandon Moss. Not that Joe Thurston and Jonathon Van Every aren't nice players but they are hardly choice #1 for a pennant contender. The fact that Julio Lugo (concussion) and Kevin Youkilis are seeing outfield action should trouble die hard Sox fans....Jacoby Ellsbury was to have been your starting CF, Coco was to have been in the AL central by now, JD and Manny would have Bobby Kielty as the corner backup.....as they say the best laid plans can't catch a popup.
It's too bad Bruins fans are not for the most part hockey fans....because if they were they'd be watching the rest of the postseason which any hockey fan will tell you is the best NHL action you'll find....even though my Flyers are on the brink of elimination the series has featured close competitive games hard fought and good hockey.
All-star race is this weekend at Lowes motor speedway...the question I have is who...who decides which driver gets voted in by the fans..the logical answer is of course the fans BUT.....every year there appears to be A campaign by Speed channel and the Raceday/Victory lane crew that gets a driver voted in the race, EX Kenny Wallace (did anyone really want to watch him turn slow laps?)...ex Kyle Petty( I'd vote for his dad before him)....Martin Truex Jr got in one year as a rookie because Junior championed him and when Junior talks Junior fans get busy...this year it looks like Robby Gordon is the guy getting a push...but why?....All I know is I voted for Kasey Kahne...I feel bad for the guy, he's got a decent fanbase..he can drive...(neither things were possesed by Petty and Wallace) and he has a decent history at Lowes so why not.
Mount baseball has always been competitive but this season the Mounties look to add a championship at the D-2 level to thier already impressive athletic accolades.
Girls Hockey update....................................... tune in sunday.
