Rep. Voas introduces bill to increase veterans’ municipal tax exemption

STATE HOUSE – Rep. Brandon Voas (D-Dist. 57, Cumberland, Central Falls) has introduced legislation (2024-H 7383) that would increase the minimum veterans’ exemption on municipal taxes.  The bill would increase the minimum exemption from $1,000 to $6,000.

“Rhode Island’s veterans have already sacrificed and given so much so that the people of Rhode Island may live with freedom and without fear.  Raising the minimum municipal tax exemption for them is the right thing to do in order to demonstrate our gratefulness for their service to us all,” said Representative Voas.

The legislation has been referred to the House Municipal Government and Housing Committee.
