Governor McKee Announces Grants for Manufacturers

PROVIDENCE, RI — Today, Governor Dan McKee, Chair of the Rhode Island Commerce Board, announced that the Board awarded $487,361 in grants to manufacturers under the state’s Manufacturing Equipment Grant Program to help eligible Rhode Island manufacturers defray the cost of purchasing equipment or machinery meant to modernize, improve, or expand manufacturing processes.

“Rhode Island is the destination for innovation—and our manufacturers are at the heart of it,” said Governor Dan McKee. “This grant program makes it easier for companies to push the boundaries of development and strengthen their manufacturing capabilities while helping to grow our local economy.”

The Manufacturing Equipment Grant Program reimburses up to 50% of a cash purchase or 50% of a down payment for a financed purchase, with a cap of $25,000.
