On February 5, 2020, the Statewide Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Peter Manders with three counts of first-degree sexual assault, five counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree child molestation. 

 

The alleged acts occurred in the city of Warwick on diverse dates between August 1, 2016 and June 30, 2019. The Warwick Police Department conducted the investigation.

 

The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on February 18, 2020 in Kent County Superior Court.

Some U.S. personnel are under evacuation orders from key Middle East bases as President Trump considers taking action against Iran. That's according to multiple reports citing U.S. officials. Trump has warned Iran the U.S. is looking at options for intervening in the crackdown of anti-government protests, and stands "ready to help."        President Trump says the killing in Iran is stopping. Wednesday at the White House, the President said he just heard on good authority that Iran won't hold executions, presumably against anti-government protests. Trump would not elaborate on the information or where it came from.        The Justice Department says there is no basis for an investigation into the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis last week. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche made the announcement Tuesday. The 37-year-old was shot in her vehicle in what federal officials argue was justified self-defense, sparking protests around the country.        Wall Street is closing with stocks lower. It comes as Tech names like Broadcom, Nvidia and Micron Technology all suffered losses. At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 42 points to 49-149. The S&P 500 fell 37 points to 69-26. The Nasdaq dropped 238 points to 23-471.        The FBI has raided the home of a Washington Post reporter related to classified information. According to the outlet, agents seized a phone, two laptop computers and a Garmin watch from the home of reporter Hannah Natanson although she is not the focus of the probe. The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into Aurelio Perez-Lugones, who an FBI affidavit describes as a government contractor.        Preliminary numbers are showing a drop in Obamacare enrollment. According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, 22-point-eight million consumers signed up for 2026 individual market health insurance compared to the 23-point-six million consumers who enrolled around this time last year. The decline of roughly 800-thousand people is an early indication that allowing the enhanced premium tax subsidies to expire caused people to defer signing up for health insurance.
