How do you know its fall? “When you pick apples and pumpkins too,” sings Apple Annie who is featured in a delightful 30 minute interactive program of songs, fingerplays and musical activities for young children and their families.  Join her on Zoom September 23th at 4pm. She suggests that if you have scarves, shakers, any kind of simple rhythm instruments at home, (pots, pans and wooden spoons are good too), keep them handy so you and your children can play along with her. America's roads, skies and rails will be busy this Thanksgiving. In fact, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said he expects the busiest Thanksgiving on record, with 73-million Americans on the road, 31-million in the skies, and one-point-two-million riding the rail. Duffy said the busiest times on the road will be in the afternoons on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday.        A polar vortex is set to bring cooler temperatures to the Central and Northern U.S. for the Thanksgiving holiday. That includes northern parts of the Pacific Northwest, the Great Plains, parts of Texas, and the interior Mid-Atlantic. It comes as millions of Americans are set to hit the road for the holiday weekend.        President Trump has accepted an invitation to visit China. The President said he and Xi discussed many topics including Russia-Ukraine, fentanyl and farm products, and he'll be meeting Xi in April.        Stephen A. Smith says he wants to have a "profound" impact on who the next president is, while not ruling out that person being him. In an interview with The Hill, the ESPN and sports personality said that he isn't thinking about running right now, and that he loves what he does and isn't willing to "give up" his money. He added that he wants to make an impact, and that if you are an elected official, he wants to be a place you're going to have to come through if you're going to get to where you want to go."        Portland Trail Blazers head coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups has pleaded not guilty in his federal case involving rigged poker games. He's accused of using his well known name to lure players into rigged poker game tables and then cheat those players by using x-ray machines and tampered shuffling machines. The games were allegedly paid for by the mafia.        Authorities investigating a Virginia high school football coach say he's gone missing. Virginia State Police issued a statewide alert for Travis Turner, who was last seen Thursday in Wise County, in the southwestern part of the state. The 46-year-old coaches the undefeated Union High School football team in Big Stone Gap.
