President Trump says the U.S. will intervene if Iran kills peaceful protesters during the current economic unrest. Trump was up posting on Truth Social early Friday, and said if peaceful protesters die, the U.S. "will come to their rescue." Senior Iranian officials quickly responded, and warned that U.S. intervention would spark chaos in the region and be met with a firm response.        Over 20-million people in the U.S. are now facing higher health insurance costs after Congress allowed federal tax subsidies to expire at year's end. The average cost of premiums through the Affordable Care Act is now expected to rise by 26-percent across the U.S. Millions of people are expected to drop their health insurance because of the price hikes.        The president of Switzerland says the country will hold five days of mourning after around 40 people were killed and scores more injured in a fire at an Alpine ski resort. The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. Thursday during a crowded New Year's celebration high in the Swiss Alps. It's being called one of the most traumatic events in Switzerland's history.        New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is wasting no time going after bad landlords. Mamdani held a news conference following his inauguration Thursday to put slumlords on notice that the city won't compromise when it comes to apartment maintenance and housing quality.        A Colorado woman is dead after an apparent mountain lion attack in the Rocky Mountains. Colorado Parks and Wildlife says the incident was reported Thursday northwest of Boulder. A parks official says a group of hikers noticed a mountain lion near a person lying on the ground, and scared the lion away by throwing rocks at it.        One of the Haim [[ hi-um ]] sisters is now married. Este [[ Es-tee ]] Haim is the oldest of the three sisters in the sibling rock band. On New Year's Eve, the 39-year-old married tech entrepreneur Jonathan Levin [[ Lev-in ]] at a ceremony in California, which included celebrity friends like Taylor Swift and Stevie Nicks.
