Then read as many of the books from the RICBA book list as you wish. We recommend 3-5 books so you will be able to answer trivia questions, first lines, objects, illustrations and more. Cranston Public Library is hosting the event and several librarians from around the state will be hosting challenges based on books from the Rhode Island Children's Book Award. 

 

Ms. Chris from Woonsocket Harris Public Library will be participating in one of the events and hopes to see many Woonsocket students participating. Every participant will get something for joining us.  

 

Former Trump administration national security adviser John Bolton is making an intial court appearnce after turning himself to federal authorities in Maryland. Bolton was indicted yesterday on federal charges related to alleged mishandling of classified documents. A vocal critic of Trump, Bolton says that the indictment is politically motivated. His Maryland home and DC office were searched by FBI agents in August.        President Trump is hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House in a couple of hours. It's part of Trump's ongoing effort to end the years-long Russia-Ukraine war. On Thursday, Trump said he had a "very productive" phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and told reporters the two will be meeting in Hungary soon. Trump also said he plans to discuss the call with Zelensky.        A potent fall cross-country storm is expected to bring severe weather to the central and northeastern portion of the country. Forecasters are monitoring the storm as it works its way through the Rockies after dropping record-setting rain on California earlier in the week. The storm will likely cover 40 states, with the Midwest forecast to see heavy rain by Friday, while the Ozarks and Mississippi Valley will also face a severe weather threat before the system reaches the Northeast by Sunday.        A large turnout is expected tomorrow for a second round of "No Kings" protests against President Trump and his use of executive power. Protests are planned in more than 25-hundred locations across the nation, with organizers accusing Trump of authoritarian power grabs. Their stated goal: to remind President Trump and his enablers that America has no kings.        Some in the health community have come up with a new definition of obesity. It would mean nearly 70 percent of people taking part in a study would be obese. Under the new definition, a person is classified as obese if they have a high Body Mass Index and an elevated reading from one of the newer measures of body fat. A person can also be considered obese if they have a normal BMI but at least two elevated results from the newer measures.        The MLB playoffs continued with a pair of Championship Series matchups on Thursday. The Dodgers are now one win away from their second straight trip to the World Series after downing the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 in Game Three of the NLCS in Los Angeles. In the ALCS, the Toronto Blue Jays notched their second straight win with an 8-2 victory over the Mariners in Game Four in Seattle.
