RIPTA Administrative Offices Will Be Closed on the Holiday

 

 

Providence, Rhode Island, September 30, 2021 -- The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will run a Sunday/Holiday service schedule for all fixed-route and paratransit service on Monday, October 11, 2021 for the Columbus Day Holiday. All RIPTA offices will be closed on the Monday holiday.

 

RIPTA Flex Routes will not be operating on the holiday except for Flex Route 203 (URI/Narragansett/South Kingstown) which will operate from 10 am to 5 pm.  The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) and the RIde paratransit reservation line (461-9760) will not be staffed on the holiday.  However, Flex and RIde passengers can leave a detailed message on the appropriate phone lines if they want to schedule an upcoming trip.

The GOP legislation has already gained approval in the House. However, it's expected to fail as both Democrats and Republicans have remained steady in their stances. Democrats are focusing on health care issues and want Obamacare subsidies to be extended.        At least six people are dead after Israel Defense Forces opened fire in Gaza. According to an IDF post on X, it opened fire on what it described as several suspects approaching troop positions in northern Gaza, and it is urging residents in Gaza "to follow instructions and keep their distance from IDF troops." The gunfire came a day after President Trump's visit to the region declaring an end to the war between Israel and Hamas.        Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro is thanking prosecutors after the man accused of carrying out an arson attack at his home pleaded guilty today. Cody Balmer firebombed the official residence of Shapiro back in April while the governor and his family were sleeping inside. Shapiro says his family still feels vulnerable, even after all of these months.        Gas prices are seeing a dip. According to Gas-Buddy, the average price nationwide is three-02 a gallon. It's dropped more than six-cents over just the past week, and more than 14-cents from just a year ago. We could soon see it drop below three-bucks for the first time in years.        R&B star D'Angelo is dead at the age of 51. TMZ reports he passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer. D'Angelo is known for hits like "Untitled (How Does It Feel)." He won four Grammy awards over the course of his career.
