Pretzel Log Cabin

Monday February 21st  2:30-3:30   We provide all the materials you supply the imagination.  Let us know if your child has a food allergy. We will not use nuts but some items may be processed in a factory that  has nuts. Great for ages 8 & up.  Registration is required. Sign up in children’s room 769-9044 x2 so we have enough supplies for everyone.

 

Teen Role Playing game (similar to D&D but orginal stories and universe created by our youth services librarian)

Tuesday February 22nd 3-5pm  Youth Services Librarian, Ed Fuqua, leads adventurers on an exciting role playing game each Tuesday for middle and high school students. Ask at the teen desk. Fondant Fun

Wednesday February 23rd 2-3pm    We provide the fondant in various colors and use it to make animal figures or shapes with cookie cutters. Great for ages 8 & up. No eating in this program. Painting Palooza

Thursday February 24th 3-4pm   We provide the paints, brushes, and things to paint. Great for kids with adult. Registration suggested so we have space for all. Walk-ins are welcome so long as there is space in the room. All ages.  Call 401-769-9044 x2

 

Pretzel Wands & Trivia for Teens 

Friday February 25th 3-4pm  Participants  in middle and high school will have individual trays with two large pretzel rods. Take your plate one at a time to the head table where a staff member will drizzle chocolate and you may choose sprinkles. For our preschoolers, we will have coloring sheets, crafts at the craft table in the children's room and craft kits to make at the library or take home. 

 

 
Former Vice President Dick Cheney is dead at the age of 84. Cheney's career in public service began in 1969 when he joined the Nixon Administration. In announcing his passing, Cheney's family said his death was "due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease."        It's Election Day with a number of key races on the ballot. In New York City's race for mayor, Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani maintains his commanding lead in the polls over Independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa. The polls have tightened in the race to be New Jersey's next governor, with Democrat Mikie [[ Mikey ]] Sherrill's lead over Republican Jack Ciattarelli [[ CHIT-ah-relly ]] narrowing. The same cannot be said for Virginia, where Democrat Abigail Spanberger has maintained a double-digit lead over Republican Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears in that race for governor.        The federal government shutdown has now tied the record for the longest in U.S. history. The Senate is set to vote for a 14th time to end the impasse and Senate Majority Leader John Thune says he's optimistic that lawmakers will find a solution this week. Democrats are holding firm on demands to save health care subsidies that keep insurance premiums down for millions, while Republicans have refused to negotiate until the government is reopened.        The Supreme Court will hear arguments over President Trump's tariffs tomorrow. The high court scheduled oral arguments for November 5th after it agreed to fast track the case. The tariffs will stay in place until the court makes a decision.        Waymo plans to grow its robotaxi service to three more cities. The company says it will launch its service on the streets of Detroit, Las Vegas and San Diego, likely in early 2026. Waymo plans to expand in even more cities next year including Seattle, Miami and London.        The nominees for the first-ever TikTok Awards are out. The popular video sharing app will honor the top creators of the year across several categories including sports, fashion and film and TV. Nominees for Creator of the Year include Alix Earle, Keith Lee, Adam W, Brooke Monk and Kristy Sarah.
