DEM Virtual Winter Wonderland Walk

Explore some of the 60,000 acres of land managed by DEM Fish and Wildlife on this virtual habitat hike! Join Mary and Gabby as they look for critters, identify tracks and explain how animals have adapted to live in so many different kinds of habitats! This free family friendly program will be held in partnership with the Woonsocket Library, registration is required to receive a Zoom link.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says flights will be reduced by ten percent at 40 airports nationwide starting Friday because of the impact of the government shutdown. The list of airports that will be impacted reportedly includes major travel hubs such as LAX, New York Laguardia, Chicago O'Hare and Phoenix Sky Harbor. Duffy acknowledges the move will cause an increase in delays.        A federal judge is ordering the Trump administration to pay full November SNAP benefits by Friday. The judge in Rhode Island said during Thursday's hearing that "people have gone without for too long." The Trump administration had planned to partially fund the food stamp program for 42-million Americans.        The first and only woman to serve as Speaker of the House is not running for re-election. Nancy Pelosi made the announcement in a video this morning. The 85 year old has been in politics for nearly four decades representing her San Francisco-based district.        President Trump says he's reached a deal to lower weight-loss drug prices for Americans. Speaking from the White House, Trump says the price of the drugs could be available for as little as 149-bucks a month. The drugs, which include, Ozempic and Wegovy, currently go for over a thousand-dollars a month and are not covered for weight-loss under Medicare. The deal with pharma giants Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk would expand the coverage to include weigh-loss for some Medicare beneficiaries.        A former NBA coach and player faces arraignment today for his alleged involvement in the NBA betting scandal. Former Cavaliers player and Lakers assistant Damon Jones is at a New York City federal courthouse, accused of sharing inside information about Lakers players with gamblers. Jones was charged last month, along with Miami Heat player Terry Rozier in the NBA betting scheme.        An Arizona Superior Court judge has resigned after being caught urinating in front of a courthouse last month. Body camera footage appears to show Prescott police approaching Yavapai County Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore Kristyne Schaaf-Olson, who was allegedly urinating before officers arrived. As officers arrived, Schaaf-Olson appeared to pull up her pants before quickly sitting on a bench.
