The Israeli military is expanding its ground assault to all of the Gaza Strip. Some residents in the region said there's nowhere safe to go as the fighting starts to spread to the southern part of the region. This comes as rockets continue to be fired from Gaza into Israel.        The Iranian-backed Houthis [[ Hu-theez ]] are claiming responsibility for attacks on three commercial ships in the Red Sea Sunday. The USS Carney shot down several drones that officials say were launched from Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen, just a month after it shot down rockets and drones fired by Houthi militants. U.S. Central Command said that the attacks "represent a direct threat to international commerce and maritime security."        The White House is warning Congress funding for Ukraine is running out. In a letter to congressional leaders, the administration said it will run out of funds to provide weapons to Ukraine in its fight against Russia without congressional action by the end of the year. The White House called on Congress to act on a supplemental funding request that includes aid for both Ukraine and Israel.        California Democrat Eric Swalwell is predicting former Speaker Kevin McCarthy will be the next Republican to leave Congress. In a post on X, Swalwell said he expects McCarthy to be "gone by the end of the year," following last week's expulsion of New York Republican George Santos. The former House speaker will soon have to decide whether he'll run for reelection.        Florida lawmakers want the same answers Florida State University football fans want. FSU fans and others were upset yesterday when the undefeated Seminoles were denied a spot in the College Football Playoffs over one-loss Alabama. Republican Senator Rick Scott wrote on X that he was infuriated by the illogical decision, and he'll be demanding the committee answers as to how this decision was made.        Rock legends Kiss are ushering in a new era for the band. At what was billed as the group's final show ever on Saturday in New York City, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers introduced Kiss avatars on stage. In a statement following the concert, Kiss said a "new era of Kiss" is beginning, "marking the end of its physical existence by crossing into the digital world."
