The indictment of former President Trump marks the first criminal case against a former U.S. president. Trump has already weighed in, calling it "political persecution and election interference at the highest level in history." Meanwhile, there are more investigations of Trump currently underway.       The office of the Manhattan District Attorney says it has contracted former President Trump's lawyer to coordinate Trump's surrender. A spokesperson for Alvin Bragg added that details on his arraignment date are still pending. An attorney for Trump told NBC News that the former president is expected to surrender early next week.       House Speaker Kevin McCarthy says the country is "irreparably damaged" by the indictment of former President Trump. McCarthy accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of "weaponizing" the country's "sacred system of justice" against Trump. McCarthy also tweeted "The American people will not tolerate this injustice."       The Pentagon is extending its condolences for families of the American soldiers who died in a helicopter crash in Kentucky. Speaking in a briefing, Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder said nine U.S. Army soldiers died when two Blackhawk helicopters crashed last night. The helicopters were going through planned training flight operations when the incident occurred.       A jury has determined Gwyneth Paltrow was not at fault for crashing into a man on a ski slope in 2016. Utah retiree Terry Sanderson filed a lawsuit against Paltrow for 300-thousand dollars, claiming she skied into him and left him with four broken ribs and a serious head injury. Paltrow counter sued for court fees and a symbolic one-dollar.       Prescription treatment for ADHD surged during the COVID pandemic, particularly among adults. A new CDC report shows that more than four-percent of children and adults had a prescription filled for a stimulant in 2021, compared to three-point-eight percent. The study comes while common treatment Adderall has been in shortage for months.
