Blackstone River Expeditions is excited to offer 90-minute guided kayak group tours on the Blackstone River departing from Central Falls Landing. On your journey you’ll learn about the Blackstone River Valley and explore the hidden spots along the river with the chance to see the many species of wildlife that call this waterway home including egrets, painted turtles, cormorants, osprey, and “Sam” the lone mute swan.

Current and former NBA players and coaches are in major legal trouble regarding federal investigations into gambling. FBI Director Kash Patel announced investigators uncovered a illegal gambling operation as well as a sports betting rigging scheme. Miami Heat player Terry Rozier and former coach and player Damon Jones are accused of using inside information to make wagers on games, while Portland Trailblazers coach Chauncey Billups was arrested in connection with a poker scheme involving the Italian-American mafia.        The Senate is planning to vote later on a Republican-backed measure that would pay some federal workers who stayed on the job during the government shutdown. The bill is known as the Shutdown Fairness Act and would pay air traffic controllers, military members, border patrol agents and other "essential workers." Democrats are expected to block the bill as some have said the White House shouldn't get to choose which employees are considered essential and which are not.        New York City Mayor Eric Adams is expected to endorse former Governor Andrew Cuomo for mayor. Once at odds over the mayoral race, the two sat together courtside at a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden last night. Cuomo made the appearance after attending the second and final mayoral debate in Long Island City. It comes weeks after Mayor Adams dropped his re-election bid.        Investigators in the Louvre jewel heist have found DNA traces in a helmet and gloves. It could mark the first big break in the case since the thieves stole the jewelery worth an estimated 102-million dollars. Officials said it's not yet clear if the DNA belongs to any of the suspects.        Maine's incumbent Governor Janet Mills is trailing behind in polls ahead of the Democratic primary for Senate. According to findings from the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, Maine oyster farmer Graham Platner appears to be holding a wide lead over Mills as he received the support of 58-percent of respondents. Mills only earned 24-percent of survey participants' support while 14-percent are undecided and two-percent backed other candidates.        Week eight of the NFL season kicks off later with Thursday Night Football. The Los Angeles Chargers will host the Minnesota Vikings at SoFi Stadium. The Chargers are four-and-three on the season, while the Vikings are three-and-three.
