USPS Announces Recommended Mailing and Shipping Dates for 2024 Holiday Season

 

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service announced its recommended mailing and shipping dates for holiday mail and packages today.

 

The following are recommended send-by dates for expected delivery before Dec. 25.

 

2024 Holiday Mailing and Shipping Dates for Items Sent to Addresses in the Contiguous United States (Lower 48 States):

 

  • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 18
  • First-Class Mail service: Dec. 18
  • Priority Mail service: Dec. 19
  • Priority Mail Express service: Dec. 21

 

2024 Holiday Mailing and Shipping Dates for Items Sent to Addresses in Alaska and Hawaii:

 

  • USPS Ground Advantage service: Dec. 16
  • First-Class Mail service: Dec. 18
  • Priority Mail service: Dec. 19
  • Priority Mail Express service: Dec. 20

President Trump's tariff deadline is inching closer. The president announced he has given Mexico a 90 day extension after he spoke with the country's president today. Earlier this week, Trump refused to offer deadline extensions as he pushes for countries around the world to agree to trade deals.        The high price of pharmaceuticals has got the attention of the White House. Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt says the U.S. pays three-times the price for drugs compared to other countries, and President Trump is "determined" to tackle the problem. Leavitt says Trump is sending out letters to the CEO's of several drug companies, telling them it's an "unacceptable burden on hard-working Americans."        The threat of severe weather and potential floods is impacting millions in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The flash flood threat is expected to rise as the day goes on with storms developing this afternoon. Flood watches are in place from Virginia to Connecticut with Washington, DC, Philadelphia and New York City set to be impacted.        Arkansas State Police have made an arrest after a double homicide at a state park. ASP said Andrew James McGann was taken into custody Wednesday, and will face two counts of capital murder. A married couple was found dead last week on a walking trail at Devil's Den Park.        Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team is seeking to have his convictions overturned. Combs' attorneys filed a new motion asking for an acquittal, arguing that Combs is the only person convicted of violating the Mann Act who didn't profit from the scheme, make the arrangements, or have sex with the prostitutes. They claim Combs' involvement only constitutes voyeurism at best, and noted that "multiple state courts have held that paying for voyeurism, to watch other people have sex, is not prostitution."        Former Vice President Kamala Harris has a new memoir on the way. Harris has reached a deal to publish, "107 Days," and it is set to be released on September 23rd. The memoir will be published with Simon and Schuster and recount her experience during her 2024 presidential campaign.
