Attorney General, State Police conclude investigation of award of ILO contract

 

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Office of the Attorney General and the Rhode Island State Police today announced the conclusion of the investigation of allegations related to the awarding of the school reopening contract to ILO Group, LLC, following a joint investigation.

Additionally, Attorney General Peter F. Neronha and Colonel Darnell S. Weaver of the Rhode Island State Police will be available to the media tomorrow, October 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the Office of the Attorney General (150 South Main St., Providence) to answer questions.

 

Millions of travelers are dealing with crowded airports and busy streets as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches. The TSA says today will be the busiest of the holiday's travel period, but good it's news so far, with flights largely on-time across the U.S. Weather remains the wild card, with storms expected in East Coast today, then later in the week in the Midwest.        Multiple reports say Ukraine has agreed to a peace deal to end its war with Russia. A U.S. official reportedly said just minor details need to be ironed out for the Trump administration brokered deal to be finalized. It comes as Ukraine's national security adviser said a common understanding had been reached as delegations from the U.S., Ukraine and Russia are in Abu Dhabi for peace talks.        President Trump is taking part in the annual turkey pardon tradition at the White House. The turkeys, named Gobble and Waddle, stayed at the Willard hotel in Washington, DC ahead of the ceremony. First Lady Melania Trump is also expected to take part in the annual tradition.        Consumer confidence has fallen to its lowest mark since April. The Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index slumped nearly eight-points in November on growing worries about jobs and the economy. The board's chief economist said consumers were notably more pessimistic about business conditions in the near future.        The Department of War has launched a thorough review "serious allegations of misconduct" against Arizona Senator Mark Kelly. It's unclear what those claims are but it comes after Kelly and other Democratic lawmakers were featured in a viral video urging service members to refuse unlawful orders. The Department said Kelly could be recalled to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures.        There's a full slate of college basketball today as Thanksgiving week tournaments are in full swing. Number 13 Iowa State will take on Creighton in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas. Later in the same tournament, number two Houston will face off against number 16 Tennessee. In the Maui Invitational, number 22 NC State will play Boise State. Later in the Players Era Festival, number six Michigan will take on number 25 Auburn.
