The Senate is expected to vote soon on a measure to fund the government on day 20 of the federal shutdown. There's been few signs of progress as Democratic lawmakers remain at odds over healthcare subsidies. Meanwhile, Republicans are demanding the government reopen before any negotiations take place.        President Trump says he's hopeful a trade deal can be reached with China. He's set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping [[ she jeen-peeng ]] later this month in South Korea. Trump made the comment today at the White House, but also said again the U.S. has been treated very unfairly by the Chinese when it comes to trade and tariffs. Trump has threatened a new 100-percent hike on Chinese imports in November.        Amazon says its cloud computing services are recovering after a second round of technical issues frustrated users around the globe. The problems started overnight with Amazon Web Services, which provides the online infrastructure for scores of sites and services. According to Downdetector, users of Zoom, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Alexa, Roblox, Venmo and many more were all hit with tech problems.        FIFA [[ fee-fuh ]] now says the U.S. government will have the final say if cities are safe enough to host World Cup matches. This comes after President Trump once again said last week that he would look into moving matches out of cities like Boston if he felt there were unsafe conditions. Soccer's governing body said, "Safety and security are obviously the governments' responsibility and they decide what is in the best interest for public safety."        Game seven of the American League Championship Series is set for tonight in Toronto. The Blue Jays will host the Seattle Mariners at 8:10 p.m. eastern. George Kirby will take the mound for Seattle, while Shane Bieber will be on the bump for Toronto. The winner will head to the World Series to face the Los Angeles Dodgers.        Skywatchers across the U.S. may be able to catch a glimpse of a rare green comet this week. NASA says Comet Lemmon will make its closest approach to Earth on Tuesday, coming within about 55-million miles from Earth. Depending on conditions, the comet should be visible streaking across the western sky shortly after sunset.
